With the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) closed due to the government
shutdown, the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC) reminds everyone that it has
resources to help you in case you become a victim of identity theft or to help
you to avoid identity theft during the shutdown.
ITRC is a national non-profit organization that aids victims
of identity theft and education to the public concerning identity theft, data
breaches, cyber security, scams/fraud and privacy issues. It maintains a toll-free
helpline (888) 400-5530 and a website, https://www.idtheftcenter.org/.
